Center for the Arts

The Genesee Center for the Arts was completed in 1991. It includes the 328-seat Stuart Steiner Theatre and the 1,700-square-foot Rosalie “Roz” Steiner Art Gallery as well as studio and instructional space. The Center accommodates dramatic productions, art exhibitions, concerts, literary readings, dances, and lectures. The Center lobby provides additional exhibition space for college and community organizations and events.

The Stuart Steiner Theatre, a theatre and performing arts stage, boasts of Broadway-quality light, sound, stage and mechanical systems. The theatre is also equipped with a box office, rehearsal studio, dressing rooms, scene shop, and costume shop. Many performances are hosted by the Forum Players, the College's drama society, as well as internationally-known productions.

The Rosalie "Roz" Steiner Art Gallery was added to the Center for the Arts in 2011 and can accommodate a variety of exhibits featuring visual works, sculpture, ceramics and other media. The gallery is also equipped with state-of-the-art lighting and SMART technology to make new media and web-based exhibits possible.

Genesee's Center for the Arts houses the Digital Art, Drafting and Theatre Arts programs. The Center also contains art and ceramic studios, a music library, drafting and commercial art classrooms. The drafting and commercial art studios have supporting computer laboratories.
